• Boarding

  Wintergreen Kennels is a modern pet care center founded in 1974 by Jean & Lew Miller in response to the need for a quality boarding and grooming facility for pets in Western Massachusetts. The Millers had been raising dogs here on the farm since the mid 1950's, and started a boarding and grooming business was a natural extension of their lifetime interest in dogs. Their daughter Judith took over the reins of the kennel in 1981, and was soon joined by her husband Michael P. Conlin. Both of the Conlin children worked at the kennel as youngsters and young adults. The Conlin's daughter, Flannery Jean Conlin Wiemer, is now Manager and a part owner of the kennel.

  • The Kennel

    Each dog has an individual indoor pen connected to an outdoor run. Fans keep the pets cool in the summer, and radiant heat and overhead units warm in the cool weather. The kennel is cleaned and disinfected daily. A security perimeter fence completely surrounds the dog boarding facility and TLC exercise yards. The kennel is protected by both fire and burglar alarm systems. We feed Iams and Eukanuba pet foods or you are welcome to bring in your pets' food from home. Should you be bringing food in from home, we ask that you pack an extra meal or two in case of any travel delays or changes in your plans. If your pet's diet includes canned food we ask that you bring that along with you. We do not provide bedding, however, you are welcome to bring in light bedding from home (but please understand, we may need to throw away bedding for safety and sanitary reasons if soiled, because of this we do not recommend bringing a favorite or expensive bed). We also offer Karunda bed rentals for $1.50 per day, which are elevated, cot-like beds. We ask that you not bring toys from home but instead choose from our selection of kennel-safe toys for your pet to use during their stay, free of charge.

  • The Cattery

    The Cattery is located in three bright and airy climate controlled rooms, and is cleaned daily. Each "kitty condo" is divided into four sections with room for eating, privacy, resting and stretching. We feed Iams dry cat food or you are welcome to bring your own food from home. If you are bringing your own food, we ask that you pack an extra meal or two in case of any travel delays or changes in your plans. If your cat eats canned food, we ask that you bring that along with you.

  • Report Cards

    Every night during your pet's stay you will receive an emailed report card that will let you know how your pet's stay is going! Report cards include the pet's temperament, how they have been going to the bathroom, how they have been eating, what they did while out for TLC, as well as pictures from TLC.

• Camp Wintergreen Daycare for Dogs

  At Camp Wintergreen, we practice active, hands on daycare. We provide a safe place for your dog to socialize with others. She will have the opportunity to play games, chase balls and Frisbees, gather for circle times, take a dip in the pool on warm days, and a break for a snooze after lunch. Camp Wintergreen counselors strive to give your dog a chance to kick back and be a playful, happy, well-exercised dog. Our Councilors will treat your pup as an individual within the greater group, and help to ensure that all of our campers have a fun, safe time in our group play environment. A typical day at CWG consists of: playtime, snack time, playtime, quiet time (including brushing, tummy rubbing, and general ear scratching good fun), lunch (as need, to be provided by our pets parents), a rest after the half day pick up window, playtime, and more playtime. Clean water, fresh from our artesian wells, is always available. Toys, dishes, and play structures are cleaned and disinfected daily. At rest time, each camper has her own individual area with a platform bed where she can relax & recharge for the next play time! Activities: CWG offers a variety of activities, including "Spaw" Days, monthly birthday celebrations, holiday events, frisbee, pool time in the summer, and plenty of playtime with our other campers.

  • Hours

    CWG is open from 7am to 6pm. Monday – Friday. Full day daycare dogs can be dropped off at 7-9am and picked up at 4-6pm. Half day (AM) dogs can be dropped off at 7-9am and picked up at 11-12pm. Half day (PM) dogs can be dropped off at 1-2 PM and picked up at 4-6pm. Please note: daycare hours differ from Kennel Hours.

  • Requirments

    All dogs must be healthy & up to date on their vaccines: Rabies, Distemper, Lepto, Bordetella, and the Bivalent Canine Flu Vaccine (full immunity required for camp as of 3/1/18) All of our campers must be on flea and tick control year round. All campers must be spayed or neutered, after 7 months of age All dogs must be temperament tested by our staff before being admitted into the CWG program. The screening fee is $20 per an animal and takes approximately two hours. We ask that parents not be present for the initial testing, as it will affect the dog's behavior.

  • Safety

    We have honed our nearly forty years of animal care experience through extensive staff training: each staff member has attended seminars on animal behavior and is trained in canine safety and first aid. o Our maximum staff to dog ratio is 10:1. Dogs are broken up into groups based on size and activity level All campers are under constant supervision All our camp yards are six feet high. We have introduction areas, and well a private pens within the larger one to separate out pups in case an issue arises. We use positive, reward based training to reinforce good play habits. We strive to provide a safe, fun & satisfying daycare experience for your pup!

  • Application process

    We will ask you to fill out an application, we'll set up a time for a temperament test, and then the fun begins!

  • Pricing - Full Day Passes

    Passes must be used within 3 months of purchase and are non transferable. Each pet must have their own pass. Discounts available for multiple dogs from the same family. Multi dog passes must be of the same duration and purchased at the same time in order to receive discount. Please call for pricing. Full day passes include camp time from 7am - 6pm.
